Horace Mann School (HMS)
brings the PYP to life. Wireless technology is integrated
throughout the school with desktop and mobile computers; as well as a
computer lab. Students have the opportunity to study a second
language daily within the Horace Mann classrooms. In addition,
they can learn about other cultures through Linguistic blend and our
partner program with SJSU: The International Friendship
club. With our Art Express, Choir and Folkloric dance programs,
students have the opportunity for creative expression through the Arts.
We offer after-school programs for academic support and enrichment in a
safe, caring environment. Our school's learning culture is
further broadened with active parent and volunteer participation. HMS
students develop their abilities to ask questions, become involved in
concerns of the global community, and make a difference in the world.
Walkathon 2007 - Carnival with Manny (the Horace Mann Husky)
The
focus at Horace Mann School is on the hearts as well as the minds of
our students and staff. In addition to academic needs, we address
social, physical, emotional, and cultural needs. The Husky Way is one
of the ways we bridge the connection between students, parents, staff,
and community. The Husky Way, which comprises the characteristics in
the IB Learner Profile, promotes students being aware of and sensitive
to the experience of others. HMS also have physical
education opprtunities with both Sports 4 Kids (which includes
intra-mural sports teams) and Rhythm and Moves programs. One School. One Community. Connected. |
