Peter Burnett Academy has adopted the curriculum of the Middle Years Program of the International Baccalaureate Organization, a rigorous accelerated program that focuses on five Areas of Interaction: Approaches to Learning, Community Service, Environment, Health and Social Education, and Homo Faber. These five areas and technology are integrated into every subject area. The Middle Years Program follows a curriculum that is approved and prescribed by the International Baccalaureate Organization and also incorporates state, district, and national standards. Part of the excitement of being at Burnett is the strong technology program financed largely by a three-year federal Magnet Schools Assistance grant. Additional excitement is provided by instrumental and vocal music, as well as art, the anchors of the Fine Arts program. The Academy is proud of its community support that guarantees students feedback through a positive reinforcement program. Students are assured opportunities to participate in integrated academic and social clubs and other co-curricular activities. Read more about MYP
